Riverboat Cruises

There's nothing like seeing the spectacular Gateway Arch with the city of St' Louis as a backdrop during a relaxing trip along the river. Hop on board a comfortable ship outfitted to capture the feel of the 19th century for journeys that include one-hour sightseeing trips, dinner cruises, Sunday brunch outings, and seasonal events like Halloween and New Year's.

  • How much steel was used in the arch?

The famous architect Eero Saarinen designed the arch, and most of the material used to construct it is steel. The Pittsburgh-DesMoines Steel Company manufactured the steel for the arch. 142 sections of steel were hoisted into place to create this landmark that weighs 17,246.
  • What are the other onsite attractions?

Besides the exciting ride to the top of the Arch, visitors can explore the Museum of Westward Expansion for Midwest history or take a riverboat cruise on a replica 19th century ship. There is also a lush city park to relax in, and the Gateway Arch Museum Store has an excellent variety of souvenirs to take home.
